Geez, it's embarrassing when "Catholics" can't post a comment, send an e-mail, or debate without falling into logical fallacies like ad hominem attacks!! It's not necessary and it weakens any chance there was of having one iota of credibility!
I humbly offer my apologies for them Cecily. "They know not what they do."

And why can't you do self-portraits just cause I do them? Have you seen how many members there are in that group?? You should do it if you want to!
:-)

omg, cecily. you are SO beautiful, and such a great voice, and so articulate... remember what i said last week about getting some PR and talking to important people about choice? you're perfect. people will listen to you. (mean people will also say you curse in front of your daughter... but i just think that's hilarious)
OMG. Cec, you are BEAUTIFUL! And I heart your voice. It's so soothing and I could hear you talk for hours! (In a non-stalker sort of way.) No wonder you have so many adoring fans! Your outer beauty matches the beauty of your heart! p.s. did you work a phone se*x line in a past life? you have the perfect voice! ;)
OH my goodness! That was so much fun!!! You don't sound like I pictured...I really don't know what that means, but you just don't. I pictured someone that sounded more harsh maybe? No harsh isn't right. You just sound so gentle, which is cool because you are a very assertive, well-spoken woman. I mean, you should read children's books on tape or something. :)
Gosh I should just shut up. Anyway, THANK YOU! Loved it!
Oh my gosh, she's gotten so big!! She is very sweet and you both look lovely on camera. Hope you enjoyed the bday dinner... and I agree with you: The iMAC totally rocks. Have you seen the Bonjour software? You can network non-macs with the imac and then print from the non-mac to your networked printer. All in the 2 minutes it takes to download. So cool!
Gosh, I feel like I know you from reading your posts (I know I don't REALLY know you but I FEEL like I do) and the amazing thing is, you sounded like I thought you would. I think the video post was super super cool.
Tori is a natural too! Sweet thing with her Tori-loo-who's!
PS-I emailed you (with a different email address) ages ago and asked if I could ask you a question about something you've been open about on your blog (and I need some help with)...I still want to but I haven't been able to spit it all out in an email the way I want to...I will do it soon because I really do think you could help me out a bit.
Cecily, Happy Birthday! Please don't be depressed - just stop reading those meanies for a while and hug your daughter and come back to the debate when you feel stronger. I'm so glad you have the energy to keep telling your story - and to connect compassionately with the people who want to pass a law which probably would have killed you. But you can't do it all the time.
I live in Australia and it astounds me that this law could have been passed, let alone ratified by the Supreme Court. I hope to god our government doesn't head in the same direction.
I knew what you sounded like because I remembered hearing you on the CBC interview you did, but this was different because I could match up your face and voice. Neat!
And as for those aberrant Catholics, I asked my ex-priest hubby how they fit into Catholicism. He laughed---because he thinks there will be a big shock when some of the more judgemental types figure out which afterlife they've gone to. God loves us, and he would never preach hatred and anger and judgement.
Please ignore them, Cecily. Delete them, block them, just don't let them hurt you.
I got a MacBook in Dec. after always using PCs and I love it...but I haven't done any video yet...maybe b/c I don't have a cute baby to show off. Not that you wouldn't be interesting to listen to even w/o Tori!
And I think she does look more like you in the video.
I just LOVE the video blog (and agree with everyone else who has commented on what a beautiful speaking voice you have).
I kept laughing every time you made a comment about Tori and the noises she was making, because I didn't hear ANY of them. It wasn't because I was ignoring her, it was obviously because, with 3 children always in my ear, I am well-practised at tuning out the kiddy sounds while trying to listen to an adult talk!!!

Love the video post! You have a great voice, like a radio voice, but I somehow feel that I should have expected that.

Wow, that was so fun! It's weird cuz I feel like I know you more now (and I really don't know you at all).
p.s. I often rest my babies on my breasts, too--so THAT'S what it looks like when I do that!

That was so awesome, Cec! It's not like I don't already hear your voice when I read your posts, but to see and hear you makes me miss you even more!
We'll have to try to make it out to Philly again sometime so we can visit more and play with the adorable Miss Tori!
